In our opinion, a cryptoParty needs to be in a cozy place without too much of an academic touch. Meaning: there will be 30 minutes of lectures at most and the rest of the time will solely be used to answer peoples questions and show them how to safeguard their data.

We are glad about the fact, that Carré Rotondes offered us the opportunity to host the event at their great place, which has a long story of events by activists fighting for the right cause and offers exactly the frame we were looking for!

So, if you are interested in how to protect your data and communications from curious companies and governments, this cryptoParty will be the event you need to attend to!

Let's hack towards a better future!

Finally, we have made it again. FOSDEM conference has started yesterday evening in Delirium bar with the traditional beer event. Lots of brewed beverages to choose from and above everything else, a lovely and heartwarming community to talk wiwikth.

However, the 'real thing' is always to start on Saturday morning with the first keynote. I guess, it is not necessary for me to point out, the motivation of attendees, pictured on the right.

As the conference has just kicked-off, there is not much to report just yet, but I will keep you up2date throughout the day in this very blog post.

Stay tuned via @c3l on Twitter! Or gold old RSS. ;)

After a hell of a congress in 2013, C3L is glad that some of its members made it again, to join the largest hacker event in the year in Hamburg.

A pity, that not all of the members were so lucky, but for the hacky folks left behind, we offer two different spots to meet-up for Congress Everywhere. So, literally:

No nerd is left behind!

If you are interested in the congress, either join it yourself or by stepping by in on of our locations in .lu

A lot of time has been put by us in this very first official meeting with the new CNPD administration. An hour and a half is not that much time, to explain 6 years of work to 4 people, but luckily we were offered some more meetings in 2015.

It was one of the most constructive assemblies I've ever had with an official administration; no barriers, friendliness, information exchange on both sides and knowing to be heard.

The moment we stepped out of the building, we all did a big whoop of joy and called it a day. ;)

Keep yourself up2date on this blog to see what we're up to!

As every year, we attend the http://hack.lu conference in Dummeldéng (Luxembourg City).

A nice, cozy, hacky conference, on which socializing and IT-Security will not fall short. A mash-up of hackers from all over Europe and some other parts of the world are to be met here.

We are represented with a booth in the main hall, besides the ones of the FluxFingers & level2 hackerspace. From UltiMakers to wireless antennas, from Proxmark's to Geigercounters and much more.

Lots of interesting talks going on here as well. C3L & FVDE will give a lighting talk about running a Tor organization in the next two days.

Stay tuned to this post to get regularly updates on the conference. :)

UPDATE: Please visit our corresponding hack.lu wiki page in order to get a glimpse of how it looked!

Within the scope of the OpenSquare events hosted by Carré Rotondes, the Chaos Computer Club Lëtzebuerg (C3L) invites you to an information evening about daily mass-surveillance in Luxembourg.

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems have been massively deployed in public and private areas over the past two decades throughout the country. The more technological knowledge and implementation methods evolve, the more these digital all-seeing eyes are able to spy on us, on every hour, every day.

Since years, C3L is calling attention to the endangerments to citizen and human rights, radiating by these systems.

In order to depict the violations of privacy, exercised by these systems; we aim at nothing less, than, informing citizens about their rights, possible dangers, reasonable deployment areas, prevention measures as protections from these always on the watch lenses.

Timetable
19h00 Doors
19h30 Welcome speech by Jan GUTH
19h35 CCTV – You are never alone presented by Jan GUTH, Sam GRÜNEISEN & Claude FRENTZ
20h15 Technical Demonstration
20h50 Conclusion
21h00 Questions & Answers

The rest of the evening can be enjoyed, while socializing at the bar or get in depth explanations by C3L members in the homelike setting offered by Carré Rotondes.

In the hope to see many of you at the event.

Do not shoot the messenger!
